I’m Certification Manager at Mowi Canada West and I work at the Campbell River office. I’ve been with the company for four years.
I got married recently and, for my husband and me, living on the coast is really important. When I’m not at work, we take our dog Olive hiking, camping and out on the water close to home.
I completed my biology degree at UVic and did my masters focusing on sustainable seafood at the University of Akureyri in Iceland. Working at Mowi lets me apply my education and passion for aquaculture here in my hometown. I grew up in an aquaculture family. My dad started working in the industry in the 80s and I grew up around it. I’m proud to contribute to this legacy.
At work, I ensure our operations meet the rigorous certification standards set by Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). I know I’ve done my job right when our facilities not only meet these standards, but go above and beyond. Continually improving this industry so it benefits future generations is important to me.
